About
Founded in 2013, Lake County "Young Guns" 4-H Shooting Sports Club is Lake County Ohio's first and only 4-H shooting sports club . Our purpose is the same as any other 4-H club; youth development, but through the activity of shooting sports. We focus on safety and responsibility with firearms. Members do not have to own equipment or have prior experience in shooting to join. Our instructors are certified through the Ohio 4H shooting sports program.
We currently offer the following disciplines; Rifle, Archery, Shotgun, Pistol, Steel Rifle/Pistol, Muzzleloader, and Living History. The cost to join our club per member are as follows: 1. County 4-H annual fee - $25.00 2. Club annual fee - $15.00 3. Project Books - $7.00 per project 4. Club T-shirt - $15.00
Currently we meet weekly for shooting instruction with one all club business meeting a month. We complete community service projects and attend the Lake County Fair at the end of summer.
The fair offers an opportunity for our members to highlight their projects and engage in shooting demonstrations. Including friendly competitions with Police departments, Sherriff deputies and even the Marines!
We also have members looking to take their shooting sports to a higher level by joining "4-H Junior Leaders" and trying out for the Team Ohio shooting team and competing at the 4h National Championships held in Grand Island Nebraska.
Any youth who is age 9-18 as of January 1st can join, but we often have a waiting list. "Like" our page to get updates on membership openings, events, and fundraisers that we will host in the future. Thanks for your interest in "Young Guns" Shooting Sports Club.
